If the safety key is in place, then it could be in the console assembly, you can try to take it apart and check all connections.

You should lube under the running belt every 6 months.

Sounds like you need to replace the running belt and flip the deck, I highly recommend that you lube deck every 6 months.

Really any treadmills under $1000.00 You are taking a risk on the liability factor as well as the warranty which is very important on treadmills.

Its sounds like it may be drawing to much amps, when was the last time the you Lube the belt and deck? This should be done at least twice a year.

You can try spray 409 on belt as it moving and then use a old towel and hold at the rear of unit and soak up both the 409 and other items on the tread, BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO GET TOWEL OR FINGERS NEAR REAR ROLLER.

Sounds like its a problem with the belt & deck and a lack of lubrication, you may want to lube the deck. Also the treadmill can not handle anything over 350lbs.

To calibrate the speed you would need to adjust your max pot down on the new mcb, Make sure your unit is also running in miles not kilo.

Your best to go with sole, a solid treadmill and great customer service.

You do have a reed switch its on the left hand side right near the front roller pulley , its screw onto the frame. Make sure the gap between front roller & speed sensor/reed switch is as close as you can get it.

I would highly recommend you lube the belt & deck at least twice a year, It sounds like it needs to be lube, by what you are describing.
