Maybe you should lube under the walking belt, may be build up to much friction causing motor controller to go bad.

No the front roller is not adjustable, best thing to do is loosen walking belt equal amount of turns counter clockwise. Then take belt by hand and center it front to back and then re adjust rear roller on both both side evenly.

I would take console apart again, then unplug the ribbon cable that goes from keypad to Console/Pcb and clean the end of it and then plug it back in and see if that helps.
