Disconnect Drive motor and see if you still sparks as soon as you turn unit on. if not then it sounds like a motor may have gone bad.

That is normally a console issue and those parts are no longer available, Yes the company that made that unit for smooth went out of business back in 2008.

I would first tighten running belt down so it pulls roller down into bracket, then install the work drive belt onto motor pulley.

I would lay unit over on its side and look at the incline frame and see if anything is broken, could be a simple as a wheel or it could be a cracked weld on the incline frame.

How long has it been since you changed your belt? If the motor works with the drill it might just be the belt needs lubed or changed...
