Surge Suppressor Question

I am having a dedicated 20 amp circuit installed for my Nordictrack C2450 on Friday. It is being professionally installed and my question is this, will I still need to have a surge protector/surge suppressor? Nordictrack sent me an Arc Filter which states I still need to use one so I am just confused honestly. If I do still need one, any suggestions/recommendations?
