NordicTrack Apex 4100i Motor fails start

Whan I try to start the treadmill - looks like its going to run but I get a moment of clunking noises then nothing. The treadmill never moves. Consol appears ok - no error messages are displayed, the track does not seem to be blocked as I can move it normally. LEDs on the control board appear correct including speed LED. Once "started" timer operates as normal.
Is this an issue with the Motor or the control board?
