Lifespan TR5000i Lower Control Board: Help!!

My machine has been diagnosed as having a fried lower control board. Lifespan gave me a quote of over $800 for a new board. This is nuts. Are there reliable third party sources for these boards? Other than buying a new machine, any suggestions? Thanks.
