SAFETY KEY OFF HELP

My treadmill will not go! Can someone help me? Was given this wonderful machine - cannot find the manual misplaced in the move - and want desperately to use - and it says "SAFETY KEY OFF" and it will not budge. Tried power off from plug to reset - on and off - nothing. Can someone help me?

    First you need to install the safety key on treadmill, its normally a red key with a magnet attach to it and will have a black cord attach to it . What model treadmill do you have? most treadmills will need a safety key to operate.
