My Pro-form 940 speeds up suddenly and I have to get off and turn it off.

It works fine for a few minutes but then it will speed up again. This will happen 5-10 times in a 30 minute period.

    How do I ix this problem? The treadmill is probably 12-15 years old.

    Sounds like it could be a lack of lube under the belt or it could be a motor controller going bad or over heating due to lack of lube.
