NordicTrack T6.5S Incline not working - troubleshooting help

Hello! I bought a used treadmill on FB marketplace and did not realize the incline wasn't working when we bought it (the seller claims it was working before we got it). I've tried calibrating several times with no luck. It'll make a buzzing noise for a few seconds but nothing else happens. I've removed the motor head and made sure all connections were tight. Funnily enough, when I switch the black and red wires on the incline motor, the treadmill will go to the max incline and then get stuck there. I've tried calibrating like this with no luck too. I have to switch the wires back to get it to go down. Any recommendations on what to try next? Seems like the connection where the red wire goes is this issue?

Comments

  • Could be a issue with the relay on the motor controller, you would have to replace motor controller.
  • if it was the motor controller, wouldn't it not go up or down at all? It DOES go up or down, just depends on where the red and black wires are on the incline motor (normal place = 0 incline default; switched = 10 incline default)
  • Really sounds like a controller or maybe a incline sensor.
  • Do you have any recommendations on how to find out/troubleshoot if it's the controller?
  • See if the controller is putting out at least 110vac when you command unit to go up or down. Test right where your incline motor plugs into board.
