Pacemaster ProSelect Error Code 12

Recently my vintage pacemaster proselect treadmill has error code 12 when it powers on. occasionally powering off will reset it and can run on it without problems but it is persistent now. Have been searching for what this error code is without luck can you help??

    check the connections between the lower board and the console.

    Its just an RG45 connector between lower board and console and that seems secure and undamaged. do you know what the specific error code means?

    Err Code 01 through 18 - (Button Error) Indicates the keyboard membrane has a stuck key. Do not hold down any key for more than 5 seconds or this error will appear.
1. Insert the magnetic key back into the control panel and do not touch any keys, if the error occurs, replace the keyboard membrane.
2. In very rare cases, a defective upper circuit board can cause this error and the circuit board will need to be replaced.
