High pulse rate measured on the Nordicktrack T7

I purchased a used Nordicktrack T7 treadmill, that works well except for the pulse rate. It reads 100, way above my resting heart rate of around 56. My indoor recumbent bike (diamondback) shows a heart rate of around 60 while pedaling.

I intend to use it for walking on incline.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

  • Can be in the console or you could be getting outside interference which is causing numbers to be high.
  • Correction: workout bicycle shows 80 to 90 HR while pedaling.

If it's outside interference, why doesn't it affect the bicycle's pulse monitor? Both workout machines are side by side.

The bicycle is consistent with the HR numbers, while the Nord. treadmill oscillates from low to high numbers.
  • Just may be in the electronics, is it just the handheld or chest strap also?
  • This model did not come with a chest strap. It says compatible with polar hr monitors but I dunno which polar monitor - any polar chest strap or watch? I'd like to know before I buy it.
  • You would have to contact icon for that information.
