Proform XP 620 - Speed constantly returns to 0 while the treadmill still runs
Hello,
I have a Pro-form XP 620 and recently while running on it, after about 25 minutes the belt just stopped.
I smelt something strange for a second but it went away (it didn't really smell like something burning).
I unplugged the machine and waited for a bit. After plugging it back in, it was working again but I noticed the speed reading on the display always changes back to 0.0 after a few seconds, but the treadmill continues to move.
I tried checking the circuit board, cables and tachometer, but everything seems to be fine.
Has anyone else experienced an issue like this?

Most likely it is a worn belt - how long has it been since it has been changed?
here is a link to a few tests to narrow down your issue

I checked out the link but it doesn't seem to apply directly to the speed issue, although I have never replaced the belt on it.
I recorded a video of the display when I turn the treadmill on and the speed resets
