Burning smell
Our treadmill recently started to smell like it was burning while using it. After trying to clean and lubricate the deck that didn’t help. I disconnected the motor from the belt and it would run and not smell but as soon as I reattached the belt it started to smell again. I metered out the motor it self and it seems to be ok. Nothing seemed open in the motor. Should I buy a new motor? Could it be something else ?

your belt is probably worn if the motor is working outside of the machine!
