Can't Remove Front Roller on Reebok Treadmill

I am trying to replace the walking belt on my Reebok Competitor RT 8.0 treadmill, but I am stuck on removal of the front roller. The axle sits loose in the bracket and there is no opening to slip it out. I can slide it to either side, but there is not enough clearance to remove either side from the bracket. It seems like the only option is to knock the axle out of the roller. Is it possible that that's the only/best solution?

  • You should be able to push that shaft far enough to one side so you can pull up on that side and then roller should come out.
