Repair belt?

Hi all, well my treadmill buttons have now started working again however I've noticed that the belt got caught and tore slightly on the edge. Do I try and repair or just cut the tiny bit off?

Hiya, problem is is a little more than frayed as you can see and it keeps catching and folding the belt over. I tried gaffer tape but that keeps coming off. Would something like a tyre repair kit work, as this is a rubber patch and adhesive and more likely to stick.amd give a flat edge thus stopping it catching?

No you cannot use tape - you would have to replace that belt!
