the belt wont stop, start or change speed when I'm on it, only when I step off. It even continues running if I pull the safety key, only stops if I get off belt.

    Sounds like a console issue.

    So the console knows when I'm on the belt and for some reason only works when my weight is off the belt? Do I need a new mother board? I thought maybe it was an issue with the motor.

    I would check for a loose or pinch wire in the harness.
